Cabo Real runs from the water up into the desert foothills. That vertical spread is the most useful thing to understand about it, because two homes inside the same gate can offer completely different daily experiences depending on which half they sit in.
What the ocean side gives you
Beach-level addresses put you within walking distance of the water. You hear it, you get to it without driving, and the light in the morning is quite different from what you get further up. For people whose picture of Los Cabos involves being on the sand rather than looking at it, this is the half that delivers.
The trade-offs are real. Salt air is harder on everything: window frames, outdoor kitchens, pool equipment, cars. Maintenance schedules on beach-level homes are shorter and less negotiable. And you are closer to whatever the community and its neighbours are doing, which cuts both ways.
What the inland side gives you
Move up the slope and the view lengthens. From higher ground you see the whole sweep of coast rather than the stretch immediately in front of you, and you get more sky. Homes up here are generally quieter, further from the road noise and the beach traffic, and the exposure to salt drops off noticeably.
What you give up is immediacy. Getting to the water becomes something you plan rather than something you do barefoot. Some owners find that changes how often they actually go.
The golf runs through both
Cabo Real’s course is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design that plays from the foothills down toward the water, so golf frontage is not confined to either half. If a course view matters to you, it is available high or low, and the character of it differs: elevated holes look out, lower holes look along.
How to decide
The question that sorts most buyers is simple: in a normal week here, what would you actually do? If the answer involves the beach most days, buy near it. If it involves the terrace, the view and the quiet, buy above it, and accept the drive down.
Walk both halves before deciding. They photograph similarly and feel nothing alike.
